After the mercury rising for a week across the country, we’ve been reminiscing about all the lovely things we adore about Autumn, like cooling temperatures, crisp breezes, rich colors, and decadent textures. And while recalling some of my loves, I couldn’t help but page through the Fall 2011 runways to get myself excited about the fabulous fashion in store for the months ahead. One of the trends I’m looking forward to most is golden metallics… which also happens to be a trend I’m hopeful too see pop up in the bridal realm as well. If you ask me, no Fall runway encapsulated that trend better than Vivienne Westwood, who’s show was practically dripping in gilded metallics from head to toe. Beyond the much anticipated “out-there” gilded ensembles, my favorite details were glittery golden pailette dipped shoes that strutted down a shimmery gold dusted catwalk and the dramatic show close – a steady stream of gold confetti. Excuse me while I sit down for a minute, all this gold rush is giving me a head rush!

Seen all over the catwalks, I can’t wait to see this glamorous metal make its way into bridal. Here are just a few ways to channel this richly decadent trend with gilded wedding day details for polished modern opulence!

Instead of wearing white for your shower and rehearsal dinner, go gold! Not so daring? White and gold look incredible together so accent your purist look with golden statement pieces like a standout necklace, bold cuff, or sparkly clutch. Or let your feet do the talking with a strappy pair of shimmery strappies!

Or add that beautiful shimmer with gold embroidery that adds that lavishly decadent touch to the hem of your gown! A full gold overcoat might be overkill…instead throw on a sequined bolero for a vintage touch!
